Blessed Sabbath
Today I saw many miracles happen in the place where I live - Chateau Brickyard - A Senior Independent Living facility. We have our Sunday church services here in our building so that we don't have to travel for church, as many are in wheelchairs or have walkers, including me. We had all but one chair filled in our Sacrament meeting today. There were 26 residents in attendance, as well as several brethren from the ward who come to help us.Mary, who hasn't been to church in months, was there. Christine Jett, who has only attended 3 times in the year and a half that I have lived here also attended. Anona invited Jean to come and she came for the first time. Babs, a woman who is investigating the church was there. Also, Karen, a relatively new tenant, and her friend attended. Darla, another less-active member also came. It was so wonderful to see all of these dear sisters in attendance. It was a fast and testimony Sunday, since today is the 3rd of June. Christine, Babs, and Karen were among those who shared their testimony. It was so touching to hear their testimonies.
We learned that Babs has been interviewed by the Bishop for her baptism. I am so happy for her. Her persona seems to be changed. She seems more at peace. Christine's younger sister died last Tuesday and was found on Thursday. She needs to go to Rochester, New York to help her family plan the funeral for her. With no money to spare, many of her friends and associates at the Chateau have pitched in with donations of money to help her be able to make the trip. What a sweet blessing for her and also for the wonderful people who chose to help her be able to go.
Then, when we were about half finished with our Sunday Study Group lesson, Darla came into the room with a sympathy card for us to sign for Christine. She said she would stay and ended up asking if there was a way for her to be sealed to her husband, even if he hadn't been a member of the church when he was living. She had come to Sacrament meeting, had received a priesthood blessing, and now was desiring to make her life right so she can be sealed to her husband. She also volunteered to say the closing prayer for our class. She said she will start coming to our classes every week. I have truly seen amazing miracles today!!
